- Changes – I had initially considered different research methods, and for the scope of the project I decided I had to focus only on one element and to table the rest for a future iteration
- Facts – I was on a break from teaching during this ARP, so the challenges were around how to structure a meaningful project that didn’t take place within my current teaching practice. Incidentally I did go back to work right at the end of the project.
- Reflections – in hindsight I may have wanted to concentrate on how I shifted design pedagogy in 2022 and 2023 on Textile Design courses, but I felt there were still some personal reasons why I wanted to focus on disability.
- Challenges – I really enjoyed attending all the workshops and sessions with my group, I learned a lot, and challenged myself even when I felt self conscious. I know I could have done a bigger project or something else, but for my own mental health, and managing big life changes, I accept what my limitations are right now, and do not hold this against myself.
- Take aways – I have experienced ableism as a student and as a graduate student working in institutions. And I really do think furthering this field of research is important.
- Time Management – Could have done things differently, but I used all the time I had available to me.
